    Hi there,
I am interested in wind-surfing, but I am long sighted and wear glasses (and sometime contact lenses) most of the time. I can’t really see properly without the glasses. Just wondering would i looks weird if i wear google or any glass wear while surfing ? Has anyone done that too ?
I am just fee a bit embarassed about that.
    Regards
    Desmond

      Hi Ann,

      Many thanks for your email.

We would love to introduce Brian to the sport of Stand up Paddling .
Detroit , eh ? It just happens that we have a bunch of students here today from Delaware University who are doing a windsurfing class !

What i suggest is that you have Brian call me on 0409930654 to arrange a time for his birthday lesson. The cost of a 1 hour private lesson { all inclusive } is $ 55.
      With regards to payment , maybe an EFT is easiest { & safest } for you . Our bank details are : BSB # 083 231 , account # 02840 3346 .The name is Sailboard Headquarters P/ L .

Otherwise a Visa credit card is fine .

Rest assured Ann that we will give Brian an enjoyable experience .

      All the best ,
      Mike.

Thanks so much Mike! I’ll check into how to do a bank transfer tomorrow but a Visa may work better. Is there an email address that we can use as I really don’t want to put info on this blog.
Appreciate your quick response and will be in touch again soon!
        Ann

      Hi Desmond ,

I am not sure that my reply to your email was properly sent .

In essence what i said was that we have had a number of people over the 30 or so years we have been teaching the sport wear either glasses or goggles .
Of course any number wear sunglasses to protect their eyes from the glare …particularly kite surfers ..because they tend to look skywards .

So dont spend a second worrying what others might think jus get out on the water & enjoy the experience .
If they think anything at all , my guess would be that your are keen enough to have a go .
I taught a guy a few years back with one leg . He went well & , naturally , i was bloody impressed !

      All the best ,

      Cheers,
      Mike.

    Hello,

I would like to give my son Brian a fabulous birthday gift for Jan. 22. He is living temporarily in Sandringham and would really like to try stand up paddle surfing. I am writing from Detroit, Michigan in the USA so could you email me with info on how we could complete a transaction on a credit card so he could get a gift certificate?
    Thanks so much!
    Ann Slawnik

    Hi,
Do you guys offer any training to become a windsurfing instructor? I haven’t windsurfed before, but as I am doing a resort management program at william angliss they do not offer any windsurfing at all.

    Cheers,

    Rowan

    • sandybeachhq October 5, 2012 at 9:55 pm Reply

      Morning Rowan,

We have been teaching the sport for some 35 years at Sandringham harbour .
Our School preceeded any other formal training scheme in this country so we have had no need for any outside affiliation .

We started the peak association for the sport in this state , Windsuufing Victoria …as we did Kiteboarding Victoria.

So , we are certainly in a position to get you started .

      All the best ,
      Mike Meyers
